Many people think that slavery is something from the time of the conquistadors and colonial domination in Africa. Unfortunately, slavery is still a reality and gold mining is one of the industries at highest risk. Men, women and children may be victims of trafficking for work in the mines and for prostitution. They cannot escape without fearing for their lives. 

Solidaridad, together with its project partners, is taking action to stop forced labour in gold mining communities in Peru and Colombia. Well-known Dutch jewellery designer and Solidaridad ambassador Bibi van der Velden has traveled to Peru to meet the miners and people who are trying to change things. How?
